The National Center on Education Statistics indicates that 10% of male students and 5% of female students in grades 9-12 reported being threatened or injured by a weapon on school property.

Each year, 3% of teachers are physically attacked by students and 56% of teachers report not feeling safe at school, according to the American Psychological Association.
